Walking with God,

Sharing His Love

Take a glimpse at Immanuel Baptist Church and the ministries God has given us. One of the first things you will notice is a commitment to worship that reaches across the generations. We enjoy a variety of music styles, from classical to contemporary, from southern gospel to traditional anthems to new praise songs.

Located next to East Carolina University, God has called us to mentor young people in the faith and develop them as leaders. Musicians play in a student orchestra and contemporary ensembles that elevate our worship. We offer monthly recital opportunities for student musicians – college and younger – to develop their gifts to the glory of God, with enthusiastic support from older generations.

The vista broadens as you see this congregation caring for our neighbors and each other. We befriend the diverse international student population in our community by introducing them to local cultural experiences and the agape love of Jesus, which knows no borders. Our fellowship includes intergenerational meals as a church family, receptions after the student recitals with the musicians and their friends, meals and game nights for the international and other students in our homes, and deep care in the periods of crisis and need that come to all of us.

As our family of believers scatters each week, we carry the presence of Christ to many parts of our community. Go with us as we engage the children of Belvoir Elementary School in various acts of love: providing food, school supplies, books, etc. Experience the collaboration between retirees and students in sending gifts to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. Gather with local churches and ECU students in Operation InAsMuch as we minister in local projects that serve persons in need.

Come and see what the Lord is doing in and through Immanuel Baptist Church. As you browse this website, consider where God may be calling you to participate in one of these ministries.
